Alexander Kudus
Physiotherapist (BSc), clinical epidemiologist (MSc), headache physiotherapist, pain physiotherapist, musculoskeletal sonographer, CBT-I therapist.
Alexander Kudus has been a physiotherapist since 1992 and has run his own practice since 1996. He focuses on complaints where previous treatment did not help. He studied physiotherapy at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and clinical epidemiology at the University of Amsterdam (MSc, 2025), and worked among others in spa clinics in Switzerland before starting FysioHulp in Amsterdam West.
Approach
His starting point is that the site of the pain need not be the site of the cause. He therefore examines the whole musculoskeletal system and, where it adds something, uses ultrasound, software-based posture analysis and measurement of muscle tension (sEMG). As a clinical epidemiologist he assesses research for quality and conflicts of interest and chooses treatments with good evidence, without pretending everything has already been proven. He also says so when a complaint falls outside his expertise.

Teaching and governance
He teaches and lectures to physiotherapists in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, Qatar, Japan, China and the United States, among others on diagnostics and on the use of digital measurement tools in practice. He is a board member of the Fysiotherapie Collectief Amsterdam (FCA), an association of over a hundred physiotherapists in the region, and a member of the KNGF (Royal Dutch Society for Physiotherapy).
